Greenstone Fields Flower Farm Purcellville, VA
Crew Leader 01/2018 - 12/2018
I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of working at Greenstone Fields because I was able to apply the leadership skills I had spent the last two years developing while learning a totally new type of agricultural production. This position challenged my ability to think on my feet because I was constantly managing multiple projects and people simultaneously. I often was learning as I was supervising and so I had to make sure I was paying close attention to the details of each task. As the crew leader I clearly communicated with both the owner and my crew members to ensure that all tasks were completed efficiently.

Led 5-8 student farmers in semi-weekly harvests for 150 CSA members, approximately 300 farmers market customers and up to 2400 students
Student Farmer 01/2014 - 04/2016
As a student farmer I worked at the Dickinson Farm for about 10 hours per week through a work-study program. I also worked at the farm full-time during the summer after my sophomore year. In this position I honed my customer service skills while helping customers at the weekly farmers market and at the weekly on-campus vegetable stand. I also had to apply my strong time management skills to make sure that I was able to work at the farm without falling behind on my academic and extracurricular obligations.
Farmers on the Square Farmers Market Carlisle, PA
Board Member & Secretary 03/2016 - 12/2017
During my senior year at Dickinson College I received permission to observe a few Farmers on the Square board meetings as part of my thesis research. After observing two meetings, I requested to join the board and was approved. I am the youngest member to have sat on the board and I am the only Dickinson student to have been a board member. Shortly after joining, I was elected to be the secretary. I am thankful for this experience because I was able to see how a volunteer-run non profit functions. I learned that collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to take initiative is key to accomplishing projects that move the non-profit closer to its mission.
